Taryn Lagonigro spent almost twenty years in the financial technology field, holding roles in project management, customer service, and customer success, and most recently serving as Vice President of Contract and Vendor Management at a global organization. She decided to step away in the fall of 2021 to focus on family, writing, and entrepreneurship, leveraging those years of experience to grow her businesses.

She is a mother to four daughters, the youngest of whom introduced her to the world of advocacy when she was born with Down syndrome in March 2020. Taryn is the co-owner of Iris Yoga, a yoga studio in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and Extra Lucky Moms (ELM), an advocacy brand in the disability community. She is certified in yoga and meditation and volunteers for several Down syndrome organizations and non-profits, including serving as Board Secretary for the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network. In 2021, she founded Four Clovers Publishing to create a space for works by and for the disability community. Four Clovers Publishing has published her memoir, "Ups, Downs and Silver Linings," as well as "Dear Mama: Stories of an Extra Lucky Life," a book of letters from moms in the disability community. She has two more books planned for release this year, with additional works by other authors in the pipeline. In March 2024, ELM launched The Extra Lucky Podcast, which quickly amassed thousands of downloads within the first couple of months of release. Her writings have been featured in several national publications, and she has frequently been a guest on podcasts and television shows discussing topics related to yoga, Down syndrome, and parenting a child with a disability.

Taryn is the recipient of the 2024 National Down Syndrome Congress Social Media Award and was named to Little Spoon/Is This Normal’s Parent Expert Panel for 2024.

Taryn lives in Northern New Jersey with her husband Raffaele, their four daughters, Sofia, Layla, Genevieve and Rhea, and their rescue pup Dublin. Her perfect day looks like watching her girls play softball, cooking at home and a kitchen dance party with her fellow Swifties.
